Boulder is close to home for me. So as you can imagine, I’ve got a lot of pictures from the Boulder area. There are opportunities for all sorts of landscape photography in the Boulder area. The foothills, and the front range mountains behind always make for a good subject, especially with Colorado’s propensity for beautiful sunsets.

Hike up in to the foothills, and the views of the plains to the east make the perfect composition for sunrise photos. Up in close the rock formations that comprise the foothills near Boulder are formidable subjects themselves. To the east of Boulder there are wetlands, ponds, and rivers that provide abundant wildlife and a better view of the front range of the Rocky Mountains.

Lastly, the skies are not incredibly dark in the Boulder area, but I have been able to do some Milky Way photography of theFlatirons from Chautauqua Park. Have a scroll through, and take in just a small bit of the wonderful landscape that is Boulder, Colorado.
