Around Colorado

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

The thing about Colorado, is that almost all of it belongs on a post card. I capture a lot of photos from around the state, below are some of my favorites.

I love to capture pictures right before or after a thunderstorm. One evening I was out and about, and brought my camera because the forecast called for storms. Before the storms popped up, the Mammatus clouds appeared underneath the thunderstorm building above my head. It happened to coincide with the sunset. I pulled over into a little pull off, and captured the sun striking Leyden Rock with the clouds above. Between the unique cloud formations, and the glorious pink lighting, this is one of my favorite all time Colorado photographs.

Midnight Glow

This is the first Milky Way photo that I took which I was really happy with. I captured this at Echo Lake near Mt Evans on a frigid August evening. I remember it took forever to get because of the cars driving to the top of Mt Evans, and the interference from their headlights.

Just another sunset here in Colorado. this was from Standley Lake. The contrast of the bright orange glowing sun and the dark storm clouds, along with the view gives a lot of room for someone to explore this photo..

The Show

The view of the front range Rocky Mountains from Standley Lake is everything. Add a nice spring sunrise, and even the wildlife will line up to take it in.
